What Is Scuba?Majority of the people usually knows about Scuba as due to the exposure of media and other means. Nowadays, more and more people have become interested in Scuba Diving. The Scuba Diving System is self-contained breathing equipment which is used while swimming underwater. The Scuba Diving System is also used by military people.
Historical Background of Scuba Diving
Since 1535, different scientists worked on various diving related things and managed to invent diving bells, air pumps, diving engine, smoke helmet, diving suits and so many other things directly related to diving. The biggest achievement was an apparatus for underwater breathing that was invented in 1865 by Benoit Rouquayrol and Denayrouse. The apparatus consisted of a horizontal steel tank of compressed air on a diver’s back. This is actually connected to a valve arranged to a mouth-piece. The apparatus worked in such a way that diver was tethered to the surface by hose that pumped fresh air into the low pressure tank, but he was able to disconnect the tether and dived with just the tank on his back for a few minutes. Later on, more developments and modifications took place in this youthful activity of Scuba Diving.

There are many good things about Scuba Diving. It’s a form of exercise, you get to see a lot of beautiful things that are present underwater like corals, seahorse, and much more. The Scuba Diving is also considered as the best vacation activity. It is the best opportunity to see the colorful world underwater and it is really fun. There are not so many disadvantages of Scuba Diving but the only problem with Scuba Diving is that it is a high- risk sport but with proper training a person can make it less risky. A person should have a medical check-up before going for Scuba Diving. There are some people who should not participate in this sport like pregnant women, asthma patients, and people who are suffering form epilepsy should also avoid diving. The wheelchair bound people can, however, participate in diving. The scuba diving is for people who are daring, rough and tough.
The Sky Diving is also another sport which comprises of three phases, the free fall, the descent with opened parachute and the landing. In this sport, the descending is partly by parachute from an airplane or a craft of the same type. It can be used for both recreational and competitive purposes. Another type of recreational diving includes the Wreck Diving which is used for exploring shipwrecks.
