The biggest achievement was an apparatus for underwater breathing that was invented in 1865 by Benoit Rouquayrol and Denayrouse. The apparatus consisted of a horizontal steel tank of compressed air on a diver’s back. This was actually connected to a valve arranged to a mouth-piece. The apparatus worked in such a way that diver was tethered to the surface by hose that pumped fresh air into the low pressure tank, but he was able to disconnect the tether and dived with just the tank on his back for a few minutes. Later on, more developments and modifications took place in this youthful activity of Scuba Diving.

But people who are suffering from asthma or epilepsy should not at all indulge in this activity as it can either aggravate or increase the complication of their problem.
